Ronnie Younkins & Blues Vultures
Stage 1, 4:00-5:00
www.bluesvultures.com
The Blues Vultures chose their name, in a roots based tradition: like vultures picking at the blues, they are picking through decades of rock history. They define themselves as an original and classic rock band, a decidedly modern term for any band that plays no frills rock ‘n’ roll. The band, led by guitarist Ronnie Younkins, known from the rock band KIX, plays rock ‘n’ roll originals and draws from roots based rock music of the classic rock era, carrying the torch into the next millennium.
The Blues Vultures play original songs, as well as classic rock covers. Formed in 2001 by guitarist Ronnie Younkins, The Blues Vultures deliver their brand of roots rock ‘n’ roll courtesy of accompanying members Aaron Isaacs, drums and vocals, Zak Mabie, bass and vocals, and Rich Moxley on guitar and vocals. The band can be heard on their recent all original roots r‘n’r album "Cheap Guitars & Honky Tonk Bars." |

High school and college memories return with THE party band blasting out the Madonna, U2 and the "Omigod I LOVE this song!" sounds from the VooDoo Economics era! Playing to sold out crowds up and down the east coast, it's a FREE show at the Middletown Heritage Festival of The Reagan Years.

The Continentals
Stage 2, 1:00-2:00
www.myspace.com/polkasarecool
The Continentals of Washington, DC was formed in May 1972 and has been under the leadership of Accordionist/Keyboardist Mike Surratt since their humble beginning as a "German" Oom-Pah band. In their 37+ year history the band increased their repertoire incorporating many different ethnic styles of polka and waltz music, plus popular dance hits from the 1940's thru today. Many have tried to label this versatile group of musicians over the years, but most have faced the music that they just have to expect the unexpected at any given Continentals performance.
The Continentals certainly have created their own niche in the music world and have performed throughout the USA at Festivals, Dances, Concerts, Radio/TV, and on 9 Cruises to far away destinations. They have also produced 8 recordings and received airplay on more than 400 terrestrial radio stations and countless plays on internet radio broadcasts and websites. |

The band, which began as a solo acoustic project featuring Brian Severn, has grown into a solid song-oriented powerhouse. Brian began playing guitar at age 10 and began writing and performing by age 12. After watching Greenday’s Woodstock Performance on television he knew instinctively what he had to do. |

Flint Hollow
Stage 1, 2:45-3:30
www.flinthollow.com
Formed in 2004, Flint Hollow has quickly moved to the forefront of the greater metropolitan Washington,D.C. bluegrass scene. There they enjoy the respect of numerous musicians, promoters, and fans.
Whether Flint Hollow is performing a classic bluegrass tune, or one of their many original numbers, listeners are whisked away to days gone by. Mixing traditional bluegrass with a splash of contemporary ("just to take the edge off") is not an easy task. Yet, the members of Flint Hollow seem topull it off with seemingly little effort. A tribute to the wealth of vocal and instrumental talent in the band.
